Got questions about international relationships, travel, visas, or cultural tips? We've been there!

@CuriousFollower:

How did you two deal with the language barrier at the beginning?

Patrick & Glaiza:

Honestly, Glaiza's English is really good, so communication was never a big problem! But learning each other's language has been so fun. Patrick is picking up Tagalog phrases, and Glaiza is now learning German seriously - she even knows "KARTOFFEL!" very well 😂 The key is patience and lots of laughing at each other's pronunciation!

@TravelCouple:

How do you plan your trips? Do you book everything in advance?

Patrick & Glaiza:

We're a mix! Flights and accommodation we book in advance, but activities we like to keep flexible. For the Scandinavian cruise, that was fully planned. But in the Philippines, we just go with the flow - island hopping, trying local food spots the locals recommend. Best discoveries happen unplanned!

@FilipinaPride:

Patrick, what's your favorite Filipino food? And Glaiza, favorite German food?

Patrick:

I love Sinigang! The sour soup is so addictive. And of course Glaiza's Bicol Express, even though it almost kills me every time 🌶️

Glaiza:

Schnitzel with Pommes! And Currywurst. And I'm obsessed with German bread - so many kinds! In the Philippines we mostly have pandesal, but Germany has a whole bakery universe!

@LDRsurvivor:

How does the visa situation work for a Filipino visiting Germany?

Patrick & Glaiza:

It requires some planning! You need a Schengen visa, which involves invitation letters, proof of accommodation, travel insurance, financial proof, and more. We'll make a detailed video about this soon! The key is to start early and have all documents ready. Glaiza is now also working on her German language certificates which will help for future long-stay visas.

@HopefulHeart:

Any tips for maintaining a long-distance international relationship?

Patrick & Glaiza:

Video calls, video calls, video calls! Also: plan your next visit before the current one ends - it gives you something to look forward to. Send each other random voice messages, share your daily life. And most importantly: trust and communication. The distance is temporary, the love is permanent! 💕

@NorwayCurious:

How was the Scandinavian cruise? Would you recommend it?

Patrick & Glaiza:

ABSOLUTELY! Copenhagen was charming, the Norwegian fjords in Hellesylt were breathtaking, Bergen was colorful and cozy, and Stavanger had such a lovely old town. Departing from Kiel was super convenient since Patrick lives near Hannover. 10/10 would do again!
